Ethics evolution throughout history
From PhiloWiki
I’m asking for your view about an evolved mankind gets past this problem. If not, is this evolved creature doomed to forever arguing about right and wrong. This is a huge problem. We often think that issues of right and wrong are limited to things such as homosexuality, abortion, death penalty, etc. But every war is fought on underlying issues of right and wrong in areas of trade/commerce, territory rights, and past grievances. How do we get past this?

Our concept of the universe shapes our worldview, our philosophy of life, and thus our daily decisions and actions. If the universe is not created or is in some manner accidental, then it has no objective meaning, and consequently, life, including human life, has no meaning. A mechanical chain of events determines everything. Morality and religion may be temporarily useful but are ultimately irrelevant.- Dr. Hugh Ross, Ph.D. Astronomy, University of Toronto
